These two pieces solve different problems. The sofa bed is for a room that has to be a living room by day and a spare room by night. It is low, firm and light enough for one person to rearrange, and it takes up 75.6 by 37.8 inches when it sits as a sofa.
The sectional is for a room where you want to lie across the whole family at once. It is 124 inches long and 63 inches deep with the chaise, and each seat is deeper than most sofas. Under each one sits a drawer, which matters more in an apartment than any colour choice.
Neither of them is soft in the sink-in sense. The sofa bed is firm all the way through. The sectional is medium firm with a fibre wrap over the foam, and it feels more like a well-stuffed armchair than a cloud.
