Care & cleaning

Every Olimix cover comes off and washes. The rest is about keeping foam dry and wicker out of standing water.

Sofa bed and sectional

  • Unzip the covers and take them off the foam completely.
  • Wash cold on a gentle cycle. Skip bleach and fabric softener.
  • Dry flat or on a line. A hot dryer shrinks the cover and it will not stretch back over the foam.
  • Put covers back only when they are fully dry.
  • Vacuum the chenille with an upholstery brush between washes. Pet hair lifts off easily.

Wicker patio sets

  • Take the cushion covers off and wash them the same way, cold and gentle.
  • Brush pollen and leaves off the cushions before they get damp.
  • Hose the wicker down and let it dry in the sun.
  • Lift the glass table top off before you move the table.
  • Bring the cushions in, or cover the set, before a long wet spell.

Foam is happiest dry. A spill on the sofa bed goes through the cover quickly, so blot it at once and let the block air out before you zip the cover back on.

Pale patio cushions show dirt sooner than you expect. Owners who love their sets still say they wash the covers often, so wash little and often rather than scrubbing hard once a season.

Over winter, store washed and fully dry covers in a breathable bag. A damp cover shut in a plastic box is how mould starts.

The wicker itself needs little. It is PE rattan over a steel frame, and water and sun are what it is made for. Standing water is the exception, so keep the feet out of puddles.
